How do Osteopaths treat?
Osteopathic treatment uses techniques such as:
• Massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial and isometric stretching for treatment of the soft tissues (muscles, tendons and ligaments)
• Stretching and exercise advice
• Mobilisation or manipulation of specific joints
• Functional/indirect techniques which place the tissues in a position of ‘most ease’
Some Osteopaths may also be trained in other ancillary techniques, such as taping and dry needling
